Manali is a long mountain drive, not a quick highway hop, so the car and the driver matter more here than on almost any other route we run from Sector 122, Noida. Every Delhi to Manali cab we send is private, with a driver – no sharing and no self-drive.

How far is Manali from Delhi and Noida by taxi?

Manali is about 530 to 550 km from Delhi by road, and a little more from Noida. A Delhi to Manali taxi normally takes 12 to 14 hours, depending on traffic at the Delhi exit, roadwork in the hills, weather and the number of breaks. Leaving before dawn is the usual plan for a one-day drive.

Starting point Approx. distance Approx. time Main roads
Central Delhi ~530–540 km 12–13 hours NH-44 to Chandigarh, then Kiratpur–Mandi–Kullu
Noida / Greater Noida ~550–570 km 13–14 hours Eastern Peripheral Expressway, NH-44, Kiratpur–Manali highway
Delhi IGI Airport ~545 km 12.5–14 hours Ring Road, NH-44 and the hill section

The first 250 km are flat highway; for just that leg, see our Delhi to Chandigarh cab service. After Kiratpur, the four-lane Kiratpur–Manali road with its tunnels has shortened the journey, though stretches near Mandi still slow down. The plains section is maintained by the National Highways Authority of India, and FASTag tolls are paid at actuals.

Should you drive straight to Manali or break the journey?

Both work. Most travellers leave Delhi or Noida around 4 or 5 am and reach Manali by evening. Families with children or elderly passengers often stop overnight at Chandigarh or Mandi, which turns a 13-hour day into two relaxed halves. On a Delhi to Manali taxi the driver plans rest breaks either way, so share your preference.

  • Early start, one day: best for adults who want an extra full day in the valley.
  • Overnight at Chandigarh: easy hotel choice and a shorter second day in the hills.
  • Overnight at Mandi: a longer first day, then only a few hours to Manali next morning.
  • Usual breaks: Murthal for breakfast, the Kiratpur area for lunch, Pandoh Dam and the Kullu shawl outlets.

Every noida to manali cab adds roughly an hour for the expressway section, so pickups from Noida and Greater Noida are scheduled a little earlier than central Delhi ones.

Which car is best for a Delhi to Manali taxi?

We recommend the Toyota Innova Crysta for most groups, because its power, ground clearance and comfort suit long climbs and winding valley roads. An Ertiga works for small families travelling light, a Swift Dzire suits couples in summer, and a tempo traveller carries bigger groups. Each vehicle comes with a driver experienced on Himachal roads.

Vehicle Seats Fit for the Manali route
Swift Dzire 4 + driver Couples in summer with light luggage
Maruti Ertiga 6 + driver Small families with moderate bags
Toyota Innova Crysta 6–7 + driver Recommended – snow season, Solang and Atal Tunnel days
Tempo Traveller 12, 16 or 25 + driver Office trips, college groups, large families

Groups booking a Noida to Manali cab can compare 12, 16 and 25 seat layouts on our tempo traveller hire page. The same Delhi to Manali cab stays with you for local sightseeing, so you do not need a separate local taxi in the valley.

Can one cab cover Delhi, Shimla and Manali together?

Yes. The Delhi–Shimla–Manali circuit is one of our most requested hill trips. A typical plan is Delhi to Shimla on day one, Shimla to Manali via Mandi and Kullu on day three, local sightseeing, and then the drive home. The same car and driver stay with you, and we quote the full circuit in one go.

If Shimla is your only destination, see our Delhi to Shimla taxi page instead. For the full loop, a sample plan looks like this:

  1. Day 1: Delhi or Noida to Shimla, evening on Mall Road.
  2. Day 2: Kufri and Shimla sightseeing.
  3. Day 3: Shimla to Manali via Mandi and Kullu.
  4. Days 4–5: Solang Valley, Hadimba Temple, Old Manali and, with a permit, Rohtang.
  5. Day 6: a Manali to Delhi cab ride home, or two days with a Chandigarh halt.

When you make a cab booking Delhi to Manali for a circuit, share your hotel towns so night halts and driver allowance are planned correctly.

Do you need a permit for Rohtang Pass or Atal Tunnel?

Vehicles going up to Rohtang Pass need an online permit issued by the Himachal Pradesh government, and daily numbers are limited, so apply in advance. Atal Tunnel, beyond Manali towards Lahaul, does not need the Rohtang permit, but snow, weather and administrative orders can close either road at short notice.

If Rohtang is part of your Delhi to Manali taxi plan, we schedule that day around your permit date. Check the latest advisories on Himachal Tourism before you travel.

What decides the Delhi to Manali taxi charges?

Delhi to Manali taxi charges depend on the vehicle, the number of days, whether you add Shimla or Rohtang, your pickup point, the season, tolls, Himachal entry and state charges, and driver allowance for night halts. Every item is listed in our written quote – call or WhatsApp for the best quote for your dates.

  • Vehicle: a sedan costs less than an Innova Crysta or a tempo traveller.
  • Season: May, June and the Christmas–New Year week see peak demand.
  • State charges, tolls and parking: added at actuals.
  • Driver allowance: for every night the driver stays out.

Our taxi fare guide explains each item in plain words, and you can verify any commercial vehicle's registration on the Parivahan portal. For a fair comparison, ask every operator to quote your cab booking Delhi to Manali with the same items included.

When is the best time to take a taxi to Manali?

March to June and October to mid-December suit most travellers, with open roads and clear views. December to February bring snow, which is lovely but can close roads above Manali and make slopes icy. July to September is monsoon season, when landslides can block stretches near Mandi and Kullu for hours.

Check the forecast on the India Meteorological Department website before your Delhi to Manali cab leaves, and make your cab booking Delhi to Manali early for peak months. Winter trips also meet dense fog on the plains, so read our fog driving tips too.
